Buying your cufflinks from a designer who’s a self-described “art-oholic” may seem like instant social suicide, but Jordanian Lama Hourani took the definitively masculine sandstones and granite rocks of Wadi Rum as inspiration for her latest men’s collection. Which means you’ll be wearing pieces that not only look exceptionally good, but also ones that channel the rugged nature of Jordan itself. How manly is that? “The collection is a combination of rough and delicate,” she says, admitting her love of fusing jagged and polished textures and colours together in her Georustic line. “I love to play in contrasts and materials – gems, precious metals, leather – and this helps make each piece become noticeable yet understated. It’s something that I hope clients feel in every creation.” We’re hoping that this starts the Bedouin take-over of men’s style...
