Fantastic Final

Okay, so the game didn’t quite live up to the hype. But unless it finished 5-4 with Messi scoring a 20-yard overhead kick in the last minute, it was probably never going to. What did live up – and actually even exceeded – to the hype was our third annual Champions League Final party. We promised you the second best thing to being in Rome, and any of our 650-plus guests would tell you that we have delivered on our promise.

Although it seemed that Manchester United’s squad simply vanished after the first 10 minutes – that’s what an early counter-attack goal does to your gameplan – the much-anticipated final between the best two teams in Europe provided some decent entertainment. After all, how much fun was counting Barcelona’s strings of successive passes while English players chased around completely aimlessly?

We would like to thank all those who showed up, enjoyed a great summer night by the pool, had a few beers with their buddies and dozed off through the first half of the game. It was a pleasure having such an incredible crowd.
