Contemporary Japanese design meets the Scottish Highlands. At last, you might not be thinking. But using the 1908 story of  Thomas Blake Glover, a Scot who became a Samurai, Kenzo’s new collection goes where no one has gone since: “An opera of colour, texture and quiet luxury,” they say. “Strong yet romantic, flamboyant yet indisputably masculine”. Well, we like it, anyway...

Form and function
Heavy gauge knitwear in blanket stitch suggest the armour of the Samurai – uhuh – while complimenting details such as detachable linings and fur trims.

Fine dining
Dinner jackets and trousers come in black and brown micro design, all finished off with a satin stitch on the lapels and along the side seams for detailing.

Valium skies
The emphasis is on textures, like degrade mohairs, while moody greys and dark navy suggest an overcast sky – with intense blues to modernise the look.

Flannel panels
Heavy flannel is embellished with metalwork embroidery – more Samurai influence – while hi tech Japanese fabrics mimic Savile Row tradition.
