Bally’s latest collection may feature “lightness” and “flexibility”, but what really grabbed our interest was “matte”

Any collection with a professed statement palette of green, grey and black immediately goes on our favourites list, but Bally’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection has a bit more than its colour scheme going for it. Their latest shoe collection is sleek, sharp and ultimately modern, with the classic day-wear line including classic oxfords, monk strap loafers and chelsea boots, all of which are finished off with broguing and stitching details. Some of the styles feature a micro rubber sole in place of the familiar hand-finished leather soles that gives an added lightness and flexibility – something your lower back will appreciate.

The collection also includes classic combat boots with chunky zippers, which are given a new twist with the elongated “flat iron” toe. Ankle or full length work boots here have waterproof leather soles with injected rubber treads – meaning they’re great for hard wearing and functionality but still aren’t too heavy.
